My first year as your chairman has certainly been one that will not be forgotten, unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. Despite the ongoing issues around Covid, we were still able to run some of our rallies. I would personally like to thank all our Rally Officers for adapting to the everchanging rules and regulations, which enabled these rallies to go ahead.
Your committee have continued to hold its monthly meetings (via Zoom), ensuring that we as a centre continued to fulfil our obligations in running Covid safe rallies and actioning the day to day running of the centre.
As we are now in the holiday period, I hope you are all enjoying your long overdue breaks with family and friends, as we are now able to relax and enjoy our holidays with the removal of many covid regulations.
I would imagine the centres AGM is the furthest thing from anyone’s mind, but your committee are busy planning the event for you.
We are always looking out for new members to join our committee, so if you do want to contribute to the centre and feel you are able to have a positive contribution, send in you signed nomination form before 2pm 4th September 2021 to our secretary. The form can be found on our website and in the rally brochure.
As I write this and looking forward to 2022, it is a concern that we currently only have 35 proposed rallies. Pre covid times the Cheshire Centre rally program was the largest and most varied within the CAMC offering over 100 rallies every year. Our rallies as we know offered something for everyone, from free and easy, sports, family activities, live entertainment and much more.
The closing dates for rally submissions is during our Rally Officers meeting held on the morning of 18th September 2021 (AGM will follow in the afternoon), but it will make our rally secretaries job much easier if your rallies could be submitted well in advance of this meeting.
All that is needed to submit a rally, is confirmation of a date, venue, and rally officers. Our website has our 2022 list, so you can see which weekends are free.
Enjoy the rest of your summer break and I look forward to seeing you all at our AGM.
