A Little History About The Cheshire Centre
During the weekend of 13 - 15 March 1970 the newly formed Cheshire Centre organised its very first rally, the Early Bird's at Ashley Hall. The Rally Officers, Ken and Nancy Dewey, Bill and Molly Bordill organised a social on Saturday evening with a ploughman's supper in a heated barn plus dancing to the music of Eddie Beasant. A coffee morning was organised on the Sunday morning; 80 vans attended the rally and this was the start of our great centre.
The centre has organised some amazing rallies in the intervening years and still does. We are going to Arley Hall to celebrate 50 fantastic years of rallying with the Cheshire Centre, continuing in the same vein as our predecessors in creating some great new memories.
In preparation for the weekend, you can look back at some of the centre's history, see the different options to book the 50th Celebration Rally and also see what will be on during the 50th Celebration Rally, which is going to be held over the Mayday Bank Holiday weekend. It should be a BRILLIANT few days. The Chairman and the committee would love to see you all there.

Cheshire Centre formed in 1970 from the Cheshire and North Wales Centre.

After organising a couple of evening socials and a hotel weekend the newly formed Cheshire Centre organised its first rally at Ashley Hall in March 1970, which was a huge success. The first chapter in out history was written....
Cheshire Centre celebration rallies are legendary! Every celebration rally has been amazing and we should be justly proud of what we have achieved. The centre has celebrated birthday's and each milestone event in the centre's history.
Starting with 5 years of the Cheshire Centre and a joint rally with North Wales which was held at Towyn during Easter in 1975. In 1979 the centre celebrated 1,000 rallies at Oulton Park. In 1985 we celebrated our 2,000th rally at Tatton Park. In 1991 we celebrated our 21st birthday and 3,000 rallies again at Tatton Park. 1995 we celebrated our 25th birthday at Tatton Park. We reached 4,000 rallies in 1997 and celebrated the achievement at Tatton Park. In 2000 we celebrated our 30th birthday this time at Tabley House. July 2005 saw the centre celebrate 35 years and 5,000 rallies at Arley Hall. 2010 we celebrated 40 years of the centre, again at Arley Hall. May 2015 we celebrated 45 years and 6,000 rallies. |

There aren't many ralliers who have a full set of these plaques from each celebration rally. What an amazing centre and long may it continue.
Past Centre Chairmen who have made this great centre what it is today. We shall be for ever in their debt along with their partners, committees and Junior Chairmen and their committee's who supported them. |

Hopefully this has given you a little insight into our great centre, there will be a film about the centre and its history shown during the weekend. It will be a most enjoyable trip down memory lane, and if nothing else, it is great fun watching the old cars and caravans and what our predecessors got up to. Watch out for times when the film be showing.
